Gantry Kids & Teens is about creating opportunities for kids to learn important life skills. It can be flexing muscles in leadership, risk taking, courage, managing expectations, experiencing nervousness, being a part of a team, communicating what you need, and even being a friend. Our programs allow our athletes to play freely without adult intervention, play risky in a safe environment, and just be kids. It’s in these moments that children learn the skills needed to become well adjusted, empathetic, and successful adults.
The After School & Program Coordinator is responsible for the daily workings Gantry Kids & Teens. It requires on-site and off-site work. The Coordinator reports directly to the Owner and is responsible for supervising the staff and implementing and developing programs. The position is a liaison between the business, our clients (parents and kids) as well as the community of LIC and surrounding areas.
This position is suited for a self-starter, independent worker, someone with classroom management experience, a love of children, patience and high energy. Other necessary skills are accountability and the ability to delegate, staff mentoring or management experience, clear communication, passion, drive and commitment, problem-solving ability, outgoing personality, great organization skills and flexibility.
The position is part-time, in-person 17-22 hours per week with additional remote administrative work 3-5 hours per week. Remote work can be completed at the business location if desired. Knowledge of coaching and programming youth sports and youth strength and fitness classes is beneficial. Must be available weekends and evenings on occasion. This position works closely with the Owner, Business Development Manager, and the Program Staff. Salary range: $20,000 - $25,000/year. Additional compensation when expected results are met.

An established Traveling Summer Camp in the Queens area is looking for applicants to join in on our summer of fun. This is an interactive leadership opportunity for an energetic, active person. The applicant hired for the position will be involved in all aspects of our camp day from drop-off to bike rides to field trips & choosing the focus that day!
While fun, this is a demanding position. You will be supervising large groups of kids while traveling. A problem solver and fast thinking mentality is required to thrive at this role. Combating injuries, leading them through games and their emotions as well as conflicts and opposite personalities are a few of the hurdles you will see.
